An investment involving the construction of a branch from the existing “East” main to supply water to the Municipality of Kórnik, which has been facing shortages for a long time. The investment was divided into 3 tasks:
LAB – construction of mains with DN500 and DN400 pipes. The material used is steel pipes with an internal cementitious coating and an external 3LPE anti-corrosion insulation coating. The total length of the constructed main is 15,664.46 m (12,948.60 m DN500 and 2,715.86 m DN400). As part of the investment, a total of 10 process chambers (1 switch chamber, 1 metering chamber, 2 vent and dewatering chambers, 4 vent chambers and 2 dewatering chambers) and 2 dewatering wells with a diameter of 1000 were built on the water main. In addition, a total of 4 aboveground hydrants supplied directly from the main line and 8 outlets were installed to enable the connection of newly constructed networks, i.e. 7 DN150 and 1 DN200 outlets located in the villages of Sasinowo, Rogalin, Mieczewo, and Mościenica. Existing DN315 water mains in Mieczewo (direction Kamionki) and DN280 in Czołowo were also connected.
Approximately 33% of the entire network built runs through woodland, so a total of 1,851.50 m of steerable drilling technology was used, together with DN750 diameter GRP casing pipes, to protect trees from unwanted damage. Steerable drilling technology was also utilised where the water mains passed under roads to enhance the durability of the pipe; a total of 86.40 m of drilling was carried out, along with DN600 diameter GRP casing pipes.
ICa – construction of a water main in the area of the town and municipality of Kórnik with a total length of 654.57 m from PE100 pipes with a diameter of DN280 using the open excavation method and 606.63 m from PE100-RC/PP pipes with a diameter of DN280 using the guided drilling method. In addition, 5 new hydrants (3 underground and 2 above ground) were constructed. The new network is technologically connected and prepared to take water from the main once it is in operation.
IIa – construction of a water main on ul. Mościenicka with a total length of 1,566.04 m with DN180 diameter PE100 pipes using the open trench method. Additionally, 12 hydrants (10 aboveground, 2 underground) and 21 repiping of existing water supply connections (17 of DN32 diameter and 4 of DN40 diameter) were performed. The works also included the construction of spurs to existing and planned DN125 water mains, as well as the decommissioning of the old DN100 main. The new network is scheduled to draw water from the mains once it is operational.
